Amarnath Cave

You will be transferred to Neelgrath in Baltal by car. Neelrgath is where the helipad is located. If weather permits, helicopters from Baltal operate between 6:00 am and 5:00 pm. The helicopter ride will drop you at Panjtarni helipad is around 6 Km from the Amarnath Holy Cave.

As you land on the Panjtarni helipad, visit Amarnath Cave (6 Km from Panjtarni). You can go there on foot (2 hrs walk), hitch a pony, and palki at your own cost. Observe the vast shiv lingam, which forms naturally from snow every year. Besides the massive Shiv lingam, two smaller ice lingams are believed to represent Ma Parvati and Lord Ganesha. Once done exploring the cave to your heart's content, return to Panjtarni.

After Darshan of the holy cave, come back to Panjtarni to take the ride back to Neelgrath Helipad in Baltal. From here, you will be relocated back to Sonamarg. This completes your Amarnath Yatra by Helicopter.
